Bring A Sign To the Protest

Many people have asked about whether signs will be provided. This is a real grassroots effort, so we want you to bring your own sign. Personalize it. Make it the message you want to send.

You can use poster board and some markers. It doesn't have to be expensive or fancy. Just make sure it's big enough to see. Make sure the message is terse enough to read quickly.

Below are examples of some messages that can get your creative juices flowing. I'm not suggesting you use one of these. It's better for the message to be yours, but here are some ideas to get you started.
  • Less Pork in Bills, More Pork on Grills
  • The Revolution Starts HERE [with an arrow pointing down]
  • Get Your Hand Out of My Pocket & Leave Me Alone!
  • STOP the Borrowing
  • STOP the Spending
  • STOP the Taxing
  • I Can Spend My $$ Better Than Government Can
  • It's Time to Clean House! -- And Senate!
  • I Want My National Sovereignty Back
  • Stop the $$$ Presses!
  • We The People ARE FED UP
  • Revolution! Nuff said
  • Is this what you voted for?
  • Government is Broken
  • FAIR TAX
  • RIP America
  • We don't want pork, We Want Liberty
  • Special Interest Get the Pork, We Get the Beans.
  • No Public Money for Private Failure
  • Andrew Jackson was Right: No to Bank Nationalization
  • Cut Taxes, Not Deals
  • Next Time, Read the Bill Before You Sign It
  • You Can’t Borrow to Prosper
  • Don’t Mortgage the Future
  • For a Young Person (Don't Mortgage My Future)

Radio Advertisement Hitting Airs Next Week

We are rolling out our media push and so be watching the Hornell Evening Tribune as well as the Corning Leader. I've heard rumors of a story at the Star-Gazette. We also been interviewed on several radio shows. Stay tuned to get the links for them as they become available. Obviously, feel free to email any friend and family links to the stories.

We are rolling out radio advertising on a limited scale, and for those that might miss the piece we wanted you all to get a sneak peek. I think it reflects well the historic nature of this event. We only have a few days to get the word out, so we'd appreciate your help. Print up one of the posters to the right and help distribute them. Bring a food item to the protest. And stay tuned here for some sign ideas.

Thanks to two people Bill Nojay and Tim Kolpien for making the great radio piece. Mr. Nojay did the production of the commercial. Bill Nojay is a radio personality that can be caught wherever conservative talk radio can be heard. And if you don't get it demand it.

Tim Kolpien at Kolpien and Associates created a great script for the ad. If you see the ads in the newspaper they also did that for us as well. So, if you need any thing like this definitely give Kolpien and Associates a call.

People Try to Stop the Teaparty

A group of people over the weekend tried to shutdown the TadDayTeaParty.com website in an attempt to stop the movement. We obviously are making some people upset. We are a threat to people that want to spend without restraint and drive up the budgets with no accountability.

This means that we need to spread the word even more about this event, and get even larger groups of people that ever before. We are a historic pivotal point in our nations history, and our response to the spending can send a clear message with your help.

Please print up a poster and put it up (see the sidebar to your right). Please tell your friends and family. And feel free to volunteer to help make this a success: email me at phalliday@excelsiorsystems.net.

Teaparty a Historic day

The first sets of teaparties as reported by the Tax Day Teaparty organization involved 30 cities and around 30,000 people on February 27, 2009. They set out to get a at least the same numbers for April 15, 2009. However, what they weren't expecting was that this was bigger than their expectations.

Currently there are over 300 Teaparties accross all 50 states, and the turnout will definitely surpass the original parties that were held. You are not alone. There are people all across America that are fed up with the out-of-control spending. Americans are demanding that the media the politicians hear their voices.

In many cases, our local event is the only place our media and our politicians will get to see. It's not up to someone else to tell them, it's up to you. And when we all do our part, our voices will be heard. Bring your family and your friends and let your voice be heard.

Cincinnati Teaparty draws 5,000

This movement is not a local thing. There already have been successful events in Chicago, Orlando, Cincinnati and others. On April 15th we will join in a huge concerted effort across the entire country. There will be Teaparties in every state across the country.

If you are frustrated with the fact that a trillion dollars is mentioned nowadays as if it's not a lot of money, then be there to show your support. If you are frustrated that government has to bail people out for things that the individuals have done wrong, then your place is with us.

Tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone. This is a grassroots thing. It's time that we stand up. No one is going to stand for you. It's our responsibility to tell them what we thing. Make sure you keep checking back with this site. Download a poster to the right and put them up all across your area. Then come and join us on April 15, 2009 at 5:30 at Centerway Square, Corning, NY 14830.

We Need Volunteers

To make this Tax Day Teaparty a success we need your help. We are all concerned citizens and have a list of things that are on our plate. However, we all feel that speaking up against the out-of-control government spending and pork projects is important. To make this event a success we'll need your help.

First, we need you to tell your friends and family and get as many people to the event as you can. The more people that will be there the more the message will be heard. We will be joining people in cities across America as we stand as citizens concerned about the direction we are seeing the country head in.

Second, we need your help in distributing posters in businesses around the area. On this page, you'll see posters for Teaparty Color Posters and Teaparty Black-and-White Posters. Please download them and print them up. It's important that you think of all the best places to put these posters as soon as we can. Put them in high traffic areas. Also, put them in places where you think that people will see them that will want to go.

Lastly, if you want to help out in other ways please email me at phalliday@excelsiorsystems.net. You can also RSVP directly to our Facebook Group.

Young Republicans Host Tax Day Tea Party

The Young Republicans of Steuben County will be hosting a Tax Day Tea Party to protest the out-of-control government. The Tea Party is being held at Centerway Square, Corning, NY at 5:30pm on April 15, 2009.

“People of all parties are disappointed with the historic spending and deficits going on government,” said Peter Halliday, President of the Young Republicans. “With the spending and waste that is occurring we feel that we need to take inspiration from the Boston Tea Party and not only ask that the pork projects end, but enact solutions that work.”

Everyone that comes to the event is asked to bring at least one food item, which will be donated to local food pantries to help feed the hungry during this difficult time.

More information about the Tea Party or the Young Republicans can be found at www.steubenyr. com. The Teaparty will be one of many around the country. For more information on other national tea parties go to www.taxdayteaparty.com.
